Two Popular Engagement Photo Session Locations in San Francisco
Zara and Houman are engaged. They are in love, they are young, they are happy and they are just made for each other! What else I can say for this charming couple?
I met Zara at her sister's house a little bit more than a month ago. We discuss their wedding plans and the engagement photo session. When I asked her if she has any place in mind for her engagement photos she mentioned that she loves going to the beach. And we came up with the idea to go to Baker Beach in San Francisco some late afternoon. The initial plan was to go first to Legion of Honor and then to the beach. But meanwhile we changed it to another very pretty and popular location - Palace of Fine Arts, not so far from the beach, just ten minutes away.
It was their first time going there and my first time shooting at those very popular , but still romantic and beautiful locations. I am one of those photographers who loves shooting on different places every time I have an assignment. There is so much to explore in the Bay Area that is not worth going to the same location every time you shoot an engagement photos except if the client wants you to.
This engagement photo session is about having an unique experience. To go to a place that you have never been to, to dress up, to do your makeup and hai , to feel special. It i abouts having a romantic date with the one you love (and a photographer;), with the one who will share lives together for the rest of your life.
How many photographers do you see in this photo? I see three! me, the girl standing up and a girl near the bushes taking pictures of the flowers in the far distance.
I supposed to shoot their engagement photo session the week before. Well, we had to reschedule it due to me not feeling very well and it was for a reason. The day of the engagement photos was all on our side. We had beautiful weather at both places The Palace of Fine Art and Baker Beach. We just got there at the right time from 6-7:15pm we were at the first location and the beach photos were taken between 7:40pm - 8:10pm. I was able to capture them in front of the Palace of Fine Art right at the magic hour and with the sunset at Baker Beach, and of course we took some shoot with Golden Gate bridge on the background.
If you want a photo with the Golden Gate Bridge on the background go to Baker Beach in San Francisco. As closer you go to the bridge the bigger the bridge will be on your pictures.
