James and Amanda hip, summer engagement photo session
Locations: Berkeley Marina Park and the Railroad - graffiti area near Berkeley Aquatic Park
2 hours engagement photo session , 2 locations with two different casual outfit styles
Sunny summer day in Berkeley
I lived for 10 years in NYC and I got used to the urban environment there so much that no matter how much I love the beautiful nature locations in the Bay Area I still miss the feeling of being in the city. And I am very glad that that the Bay area can offer a lot of urban environment as well, and not only suburbs and open spaces.
A&J engagement session in Berkeley was super refreshing and inspiring for me . We had a ot of fun while I was shooting and we were able to get to know each other. That’s why I include in each package a complimentary engagement photo session. I believe that this will ensure my clients to feel much more comfortable with me being in front of the camera before their wedding day. And I can't wait to shoot Amanda and James wedding on Sep 1st.
Two locations with two different color schemes and one love story...
The Berkeley Marina location has cold colors - mixing different shades of grey, blue and green - reflections coming out of the water, the foggy sky looking towards San Francisco and the selective choice of Amanda and James outfits in grey, white and black. The Marina images are pretty quiet compare to the the images at the railroad-graffiti location. My comment is that they speak about the personal romantic relationship between both A&J. While the railroad photos, which create the whole urban scene of the story are in warm and saturated colors. They scream life, energy and passion. The images are taken around 7:30-8pm . I love the graffiti as a background, absolutely very colorful element of the whole picture in order to create these very ‘saturated’ urban photos that relate to the personal story so well. I feel that the photos with the railroad and the graffiti walls depict more what connects Amanda and James, their personality, lifestyle and what kind of things they like doing together - their common interest and conversations, history and memories.
The above images really speak of how familiar and comfortable J&A feel at the chosen by them location along with the other urban images in the story.
There were few trains that passed by us while I was taking the photos. I was so glad I was shooting by myself... Generally speaking we, the photographers see opportunity for a winner photo in any situation that encounters danger :). Like the one above!
Look how happy they are :)
I love that photo on the right side above ..so much happiness and a story behind it!
