Expecting the Miracle - Maternity Photography in the East Bay of San Francisco

Happy Valentine's Day :)

It was my honor to photograph Silvana D. pregnancy portraits in late December at her house in Piedmont, CA. Her maternity portraits were her surprise Christmas gift to her husband Eric. At that time she was in her 7 month. And I would say: this is the perfect time to do your maternity portraits if you are planning to do so. At your 7 month of pregnancy your belly is not too small , but also is not too big, it's just the right size to show  you are happily pregnant. Besides  that, in your 8th month you already start feeling tired and big and in the 9th month with all last preparations for bringing the newborn home these portraits of you looking pregnant may be the last thing you will have time to fit in your schedule  and organize.

I am so thankful to Silvana that she was so prepared for the photo shoot. She hired Jen from JTArtistry to do an amazing her hair and make up.

Silvana already knew she wanted to do the famous naked Demmi More pregnant pose. The only thing that day that someone would think will make the photo shoot impossible was the heavy rain outside. But actually, who would think this way would be wrong cause that made the photos look so much connected to nature. Of course we couldn't do stills outdoor, but the indoor situation allowed us to create the real homy atmosphere for expecting the new member of the family.

With Silvana we did few different sets of images in her house. First we started with the nude maternity photos with a white seamless paper background I brought, boudoir kind of images. We used props like flowers and transparent long skirt. And for the next nude photography we used other props referring to Renaissance paintings - we posed a plate with fruits and a set of candles on the table and we used the beautiful garden view   from the window for  a background. And these are probably one of my favorite shots from this session. We also did some boudoir photography using an avant garde chair in black and white. And the last concept of this maternity photo session were routine moments from Silvana's daily life during her pregnancy, but also some of the most memorable ones. Moments like looking at her ultrasound pictures and her belly size. Silvana is also a personal instructor and she also practice yoga during her pregnancy to keep her in good health and shape mental and physical.

I am expecting every moment Silvana and Eric to call me and tell me the good news, so let wish them good luck with the labor and delivery!

When Silvana book me to do her maternity photos she also book a combo package to photograph her newborn baby girl. And I can't wait for this miracle moment to happen! My all prayers are with Silvana now!

Happy Valentine's Day :)
